Lately we’ve be swapping the boardroom for the football pitch all in the name of our local community!
NCS are delighted to be involved with this year’s Business Fives Ltd’s Glasgow Corporate Charity Football Events, the first of which took place on Tuesday 21st of February at the Powerleague Townhead.
Supporting Socially Disadvantaged Groups Across Scotland
Tom Nolan, NCS Managing Director says “It’s a win, win for NCS to get involved as the event gives us the opportunity to support our chosen charity; Street Soccer Scotland, a local charity who work to bring positive change to lives by providing free football-themed training & personal development opportunities for socially disadvantaged groups across Scotland. By getting involved in the corporate five-a-side tournament we also get the chance to bring our NCS team together whilst getting fit and active.”
Positive Change Through Football
We’re incredibly proud of Team NCS’s performance on the pitch of both events. An impressive 6 out of 7 wins for Team NCS took them all the way to the finals against some tough competition. Losing 2 men to injury along the way – they were cruelly beaten on penalties in the final but went out like true champs. However, our result secured us a place in the Scottish regional summer event.
Team NCS picked up the award for Top Fundraisers, an accolade that for us, feels as good as any win on the pitch. We’re delighted to announce that NCS donated a massive £1600 for our chosen charity Street Soccer Scotland.
Our Sales Director, Jordan Harrigan had the pleasure of meeting with Morag Woods and Sarah Rhind from the Programme Team Street Soccer Scotland and could see first-hand the amazing work this charity does every day to help socially disadvantaged groups across Scotland.
Team Work Wins Every Time
A huge well done to our players Stephen Hall, Stuart Urquhart, Jamie McCluskey, Liam Nolan, Matthew Ashe, Ross McCallum and Neil Tominey for their efforts and performance on the pitch – you did us proud! Special mention also to NCS Team Manager and MD, Tom Nolan for entering NCS into the competition and for all the support you’ve given along the way.
Big shout out to Cameron Orr @ Business Fives Ltd for organising a fantastic event. A full write up and pic gallery from the event can be found at https://businessfives.com/scotland-national-final/
